Operations Planner / Coordinator - Plumb Tomatoes Ltd

Job Description

We are looking to recruit an experienced Operations Planner / Coordinator to manage and coordinate all plumbing field operations, supporting both reactive and planned maintenance contracts. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating field teams, estimating, quoting, invoicing and ensuring the efficient delivery of works across all client contracts.

This is a key operational role that requires excellent planning, communication and organisational skills to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time and to the highest standards. You will work closely with clients, subcontractors, field operatives and management teams to maximise operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and deploy field resources to meet day-to-day operational requirements.
  • Ensure all associated equipment, permits and documentation are in place.
  • Liaise with other business divisions to provide advice on the most effective allocation of resources.
  • Provide operational support and guidance for complex plumbing works.
  • Attend client meetings and provide information and practical solutions for estimates, quotations and projects.
  • Assist in the preparation of work permits, Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).
  • Raise job sheets and work packs, process returned documentation and assist with the validation of weekly time sheets.
  • Update Sage and ensure accurate administration for invoicing purposes.
  • Provide operational support across other functional areas of the business.
  • Drive innovation and continuous improvement within key client contracts.
  • Identify new customers, market opportunities and support divisional sales growth.
  • Research and introduce new materials and working techniques where appropriate.
  • Promote best practice across all operational activities.
  • Oversee day-to-day operations and specialist projects.
  • Undertake field audits relating to safety and quality and provide client support where required.
  • Ensure clear work instructions are communicated to field teams.
  • Deputise for the Plumbing Manager when required.
  • Support staff training, competency development and recruitment activities.
  • Manage and coordinate subcontractors where engaged.
  • Maintain resource planning to meet operational demands.
  • Ensure customer requirements are consistently achieved while identifying opportunities for additional works.
  • Communicate company policies and HSQE requirements to field operatives.
  • Consult with employees, gathering feedback and operational suggestions.
  • Support the Compliance Manager in issuing Health & Safety information.
  • Oversee safety documentation including Method Statements, Work Package Plans, Task Briefings and Toolbox Talks.
  • Ensure the correct use of permits, licences and consents relating to works.
  • Carry out first-line investigations into incidents and near misses.

Requirements

  • Good understanding of Health, Safety and Environmental practices.
  • NVQ Level 3 in Plumbing.
  • Current full UK driving licence.
  • Strong Microsoft Office Suite skills.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in plumbing together with supervisory or management experience.
